Viewing Forms
PrerequisitesYou should be familiar with or have completed the Adding Clients exercise and the Remote Entry Processing exercise (if REP is required to process returns). ObjectiveIn this exercise, you will view forms and review a return using the Zoom feature. |
Facts
Add a sample client and view the forms. Include a state return for this client. If REP is required, use 999-99-9999 as the Social Security number for this client which allows you to gain REP permission without incurring any charges.
Program Considerations
When you click the Forms tab, the program displays the main federal form and the lists display the returns processed (federal and any states), the forms available to view and print, and all pages associated with those forms. The program displays the forms applicable to the tax return in bold text in the Form list. These forms also appear as tabs at the bottom of the screen.
You can click icons on the Forms toolbar to:
- Show all pages of the current form,
- Show the full page of the current form, or
- Print the return.
The title bar at the Forms tab also has a Print button and a Zoom button. The Zoom feature is also available by clicking the secondary mouse button on a form.
How?
To view forms:
- Click the Forms tab.
- In the State list, select the state return (select US for federal) that you want to view.
- Use the arrow keys or the mouse to scroll through the Form list.
- Click the form you want to view.
- Click the page you want to view in the Page list (if applicable).
- Click the Detail tab to return to input or the Clients tab to exit the client.
To use the Zoom feature:
- Click the secondary mouse button and select Zoom In or Zoom Out.
