Program Considerations
In the Organizer window, you can set options, edit documents, and print blank, partial, or complete organizers.
In the Print Options, there are three sections: Organizer Pages, Document Options, and Organizer Selections.
- The Organizer Pages section lists the available pages that you can print as part of your Tax Organizer, and gives you the flexibility to change the settings for each option according to your needs. You can set each option once to print each page with all your Tax Organizers, or you can change each option frequently to accommodate different client situations. Each page can be set to Suppress, When Applicable, or Force.
- The Document Options section allows you to customize the appearance of your Slip Sheets, Title Pages, Letters, and Questionnaires that print with the Tax Organizer. You can set the options once and print similar Organizer pages for all your clients, or you can change the options frequently to accommodate different client situations.
- The options in the Organizer Selections section allow you to print amounts from a client's 2004 tax return in the 2004 column of the Tax Organizer pages. You can use the 2004 amounts as a reference when gathering tax information prior to a tax interview for 2005. There is also an entry to enter the applicable firm number to print the corresponding Firm Information at the top of the Client Information page for blank organizers. To print the default Firm Information, leave this field blank.
Condensed Organizer
The Condensed Organizer addresses only the most common income and deduction categories and does not require the taxpayer to enter information when a government document exists (W-2). It can be customized by adding Organizer pages not included in the default Condensed Organizer (i.e., Schedule C), and provides the taxpayer with a Condensed Questionnaire.
