Input Techniques
General Information
After you install the program and set your options, you are ready to begin adding clients and entering detail. You can enter client detail by using Batch input or Interactive input. The Interactive input method allows you to take advantage of an additional input feature called Organizer Input.
Click an input method below to see an example.
Lacerte displays detail in the input method you choose, regardless of the input method you used to input the data. For example, if you choose the Batch input method, enter client detail, and then change the input method to Interactive, Lacerte displays the detail in the Interactive input method.
You can choose between Interactive or Batch as your default input preference in the Options, but either input method can be chosen from the Detail tab.
There are also various features that you can use throughout the detail input that improve efficiency, reduce keystrokes, and help to improve overall productivity.
Some of these features include Lists, Statements, and Sticky Notes.
This section is designed to familiarize you with these features and the different input methods.
