Program Considerations
Client numbers can can consist of any combination of up to eight numbers and letters. After you add a client and assign that client a number, Lacerte automatically opens Screen 1, Client Information.
The first time you open Screen 1, Client Information Lacerte adds the state to the State Inventory for your client based on the resident state entered or U.S. postal abbreviation entered in the address field and lists the state in the Returns list after it is added. When you process a state return for a state other than the state in which the taxpayer resides, you must add the appropriate state by clicking Add in the Returns list.
How?
To add a client and select the filing status:
- On the Client menu, click Add .
- Enter "TUTOR1" and click OK . The program opens Screen 1, Client Information .
- Click the Filing Status drop-down list and select Married filing joint.
- Enter the information from the Client Information table above.
- Click the Clients tab to save the input and exit the client.
Tips & Shortcuts
You can click the Add Client icon
on the toolbar or press [Ctrl]+[A] at the Clients tab to add a client.
Review
