Proforma/Organizer
General Information
In November, you receive a version of the current year program that contains Proforma/Organizer.
You use the Proforma Wizard to age applicable information from the current year's data files to create the next year's data files. This reduces data entry in the next year's tax program. You can print Proforma Data Sheets to confirm the aged information. Once you receive the programs for the next year, you can also print completed input sheets and view the information in the input screens to reconcile data that has been aged.
Organizers are data sheets that contain information from your clients' current tax files that you send to your clients. Your clients enter tax data on the Organizer pages and you use these pages to input client data into the program. The Organizer pages have a column for prior year amounts, which the program completes automatically, and a column for current year amounts for the taxpayer to complete. You can also produce Title Pages, Cover Pages, Address Slip Sheets, Client Letters, a Questionnaire, and blank Organizer pages for new clients. You can choose to print a complete, condensed, or partial organizer, depending on each client's particular needs.
The exercises in this section show you how to use both of these utilities.
